"Well I guess that settles it, I've got this super secret club. I call it club Angel and only people that have the name Angel can join. Currently I'm the only member but with a name like Blue Angel I think you would be a perfect candidate. So whatda ya say? Wanna join Club Angel?"
He would say with a smile. She seemed so cute and innocent much like his cousin. He liked her.

She blinked, trying to figure out if he was serious or not. Confusion played obviously across her features for a moment before she shrugged.
"I'll have to ask Bernd," she murmured thoughtfully.

Angel nodded in understanding.
"No worries my friend. Its an open invitation, whenever you are ready and willing to join just let me know. I'll get you a special pendant that says you're a part of the club."
He would say with a smile. Anything to keep this girl on his side. He didn't know anything about this Bernd fellow but hey, if him and Blue were close and he close to Blue then he and Bernd could be friends too.

She thought about that for a moment before nodding, a smile creeping across her face again. She opened the door to the little shack, exposing a simple staircase that led them down to a plush, yet simple apartment.
Blue did not hesitate as she led the way but managed to keep her clothing on.
"Bernd?" She called out.

Angel followed after quietly just observing the apartment. It looked like a nice place. Definitely better than some of the places he had called home. For now though he'd keep his mouth shut no need to accidentally interrupt the one that would be helping him.

The monstrosity that was Bernd sat quietly on a very overstuffed chair, bottle cap glasses resting on a crooked and broken nose. His beady, far too sunken eyes turned up, a crooked yellow smile on his lopsided face. There was no malice in his look, just a kind and caring love for his little angel. That lopsided head tilted a bit as the Tremere entered behind her. Those beady eyes narrowed a bit. "I hope your reading went well my little angel." For Blue, the words would sound like a gentle coo, it was their own tones and language. Something they had perfected in the few short years they'd spent together, but to Angel, it would sound like a too low gravely tone.
Those beady eyes wouldn't leave Angel for a moment as he struggled to a standing position. He was not a particularly tall or imposing Kindred, especially with his crippled legs and hunched back. "What brings a Sorcerer down into my humble abode?" He asked angel, in that same gravely tone, fighting back the cough that was soon to wrack his broken frame. If he were here to try and take Blue from him, from their little home, from the peace that he had worked to hard to keep for her. It would be over his mangled and dead corpse. Bernd was not one to fly off the handle at anything, knowing the secrets of every member of the city generally garnered him some level of leverage and comfort when dealing with any of the clans. The Tremere however always paid a premium, for anything and everything they acquired from the broken old Nosferatu. Prejudices were after all prejudices.

"Mhmm," she murmured in response, a smile breaking out across her scarred features. She crossed the room in a smooth glide, remnscent of flight, as soon as he shifted as if he were going to stand. She offered an arm in the most subtle way she could, but they had a guest. She knew he wouldn't take it, and was not offended when he didn't. Her fingers reached out to brush across his rough, papery arm, before she looked back to Angel.
Sorcerer? That word jostled around in her mind for a moment, but nothing connected properly. She took a step behind Bernd, feeling his overwhelming suspicion and uncertainty. She wasn't quite sure why he would respond so violently to the man that had been nothing but kind to her.
"This is Angel," she murmured in a tone that was almost idyllic, leaning around his arm like a child peeking around a parent. Her confusion was obvious in her sapphire gaze and the tilt of her head, but whatever questions brewed in her mind remained unspoken. "The Prince sent him to speak to you. He found me outside, while he was talking to dead people, so I brought him in from the cold. That was right, right?" She turned to peer up at him as if seeking his approval, a tentative smile on her lips.

Angel bowed to the old creature in front of him. He was old, if not in age definitely in appearance. Either way treating him with respect was the best idea.
"Hello."
He would say nervously with a small wave to the introduction that Blue had given him before nodding.
"As she said, my name is Angel of Clan Mau and The Prince sent me here to seek your wisdom on my journey. If that is at all possible."
Angel would say formally but politely. Then he would lighten up a bit.
"Also, thank you for not saying 'Are you a magic user boy?' That phrase... Has come to be the bane of my existence in this city."
He would chuckle at his own joke hoping to lighten the mood and show he wasn't here for any devious means.

Bernd's beady little eyes slid down to the little gargoyle that had taken up refuge behind him and smiled kindly. The look itself would have been disturbing if not for the fact that it was Blue and she would recognize his sentiments. "You did wonderfully..." Bernd would curl over a bit coughing violently. Spittle running down his mangled and torn lips, it would take him a few moments to reorient himself before responding to his little angel. "You did wonderfully my little Angel." He'd pat her gently on the head with the hand that wasn't covered in spittle, smiling as appreciatively as possible toward her. She didn't need to understand his caution, not yet at least, and he didn't want to upset her, especially if Angel had treated her well.
Those too sunken eyes would turn up toward angel, and he'd tilt his head, studying him intently. He could see the dead, but the Prince had sent him. Bernd turned that thought over for a long few moments before speaking to Angel, his voice gravely, but fair. "If the Prince sent you..." A single coughed wracked him, but not enough to bow his already bent and damaged frame. "If Amy sent you, then you're welcome to my home Angel of Clan Mau." Bernd's accent, though torn and gravely was almost perfect. "What is it that the sewer rats can do for you sorcerer?" He asked as kindly as his guard would allow. The magic user comment he just let slide. It would do neither of them any good to stand on ceremony here, at least not the courtly ceremony, the rules of host and kindness didn't cost him, or his little angel anything. And should he ask the sorcerer to leave and he should refuse...
Well Bernd didn't really want to think about that...

Blue did not outwardly respond when Bernd coughed. It was a fairly normal thing for him and she had long since become accustomed to the way his body betrayed him, over and over. Her fingers reached up as he pet her head, smile brightening excitedly, to brush across his own. Whatever uncertainties and suspicions she may have had disappeared, once she knew she had done the right thing. She was, for a moment, quite worried that she had done something to upset him. He did not seem to like this Angel of Clan Mau, whatever that meant, but she couldn't figure out why.
She turned her sapphire eyes back on the newcomer, tilting her head to the opposite side and clinging to the shirttails of her Nosferatu. He made her comfortable, even when he wasn't. Yet, as he referred to himself as a sewer rat, Blue winced slightly. She hated when any of the Nosferatu called themselves that... She had such great respect for them all. For the time being, however, she remained silent.

Angel watched the interactions between Bernd and Blue. It was sweet, in a twisted sort of way. He felt his heart swell as he could feel the distrust rolling off of Bernd in waves while Blue was innocently uncertain of what was happening... It reminded him of how he and Belle were. But no point in dwaddling.
"Yes... I am looking for the Sargon Fragments. The Prince suggested you would be my best bet for information to continue my search."
Angel would say plainly and to the point. This old vampire didn't seem to like Angel. Which he was quite used to by now... This city was probably the absolute worst place for him to have gone...

Bernd studied Angel for a few more long moments. Those beady eyes as well as all of his other senses taking in the entirety of Angel's existence. His scent, the way he carried himself, everything he could glean from the sorcerers presence he did. The mangled nosferatu motioned toward one of the stuffed chairs in the room, specifically NOT his or Blue's normal seating and proceeded to sit down himself, though the effort to do so was quite obviously strenuous. "You're..." Bernd lifted his hand up to his face before the coughing spell started, stopping most of the spittle from dirtying their unusually clean and well kept home. Especially for the normally sewer dwelling Nosferatu. It took him another long few moments to regain his composure.
"Angel of Clan Mau, Sorcerer of the Tremere Clan." Bernd outlined what he knew from just his meeting and speaking to the young sorcerer. "You do not know the pains your Clan has caused myself and mine, and for that ignorance I forgive you." His gravely voice was almost gasping as he continued to speak. Even in a comfortable seated position, he found it difficult to speak more than a few sentences. "The Fragments of Sargon I would be willing to help you find... On a number of conditions." he added the last bit for Blue's safety more than his own. "You will swear by whatever it is that binds you that no harm shall come to my angel, and that you will not use the knowledge contained in it's pages for evil." Bernd smiled a bit toward his little angel, running a gnarled hand through her feathers comfortingly. He didn't want the news that Angel of Clan Mau was a Tremere to upset her too much.
"Secondly..." He paused again as another fit of coughing bowed his seated form almost in half. This one far more painful than the last. Righting himself he continued to speak in that same gravely tone as if the previous coughing fit had never happened. "I expect you to answer my call should I call for you, a favor asked is a favor owed after all." Bernd gave Angel a little nod, it was kind and less formal than what he would have granted the Prince, but Angel was by no means Amy, and had not done for him, the many things that the beautifully kind Prince had.

Blue remained at the Nosferatu's side as he struggled back into his usual, plush seat. Her smile was still soft upon her lips, kindness and affection apparent in her sapphire gaze. It was obvious that she adored the twisted and gnarled old man that she stayed close to. She had very little aggression in her frame as he began to speak, allowing herself to turn her attention back up to the man she had brought into their little home.
However, he said that word. Tremere. Shock crossed her features and she took a single step backwards. The jacket she wore that his her wings shuffled obviously upon her shoulders, her wings beginning to stretch out in defense. What had, only moments before, been a look of welcome turned quickly to stone. Her lips pulled back over her teeth, exposing the crooked fangs she claimed, her chin jerking violently to one side. Every muscle in her thin frame tensed at once, fingers curling into the palms of her hands. Her nails, kept blunt for a reason, broke the skin, and the rancid smell of her tainted blood filled the room.
She wanted to hit him. It was almost impossible for her to keep her feet firmly planted on the ground, to stay where she was. The effort put an obvious strain upon her face, her shoulders jerking backwards in an effort to keep her wings perfectly folded against her spine. Even with that, she jerked two steps forward, just enough to put herself between Bernd and Angel. Of course, she was not nearly rude enough to interrupt the Nosferatu as he spoke. His conditions fell on deaf ears, his touch numb even against her feathers. She wanted to strip out of the fabric she wore and throw her wings to the side, the tips of her flight feathers touching each wall; it was the easiest way for her to look threatening.
When he finished what he had to say, Blue still did not look back at her father figure. She did not want him to see the hate, the anger, and the power that made her eyes shine and glow. Instead, she remained entirely focused on Angel, and if he took so much as a single step towards Bernd, she was fully prepared to swing her fists and take him down. All she could manage to get around the lump that had formed in her throat was a growling whisper.
"You're a Tremere?"

Angel took the seat offered to him and sat. Then he would watch as the Bernd slowly took his own seat. The poor guys decrepit body working against him... It was hard to watch, but he didn't want to offend him by turning away. He was someone that the Prince seemed to have some high favor for so he must be pretty important somewhere.
As Bernd struggled to speak, Angel listened to every word. What transgressions had been made against him? Were the Tremere even more heinous than he realized?
Bernd then started talking about how he could help Angel find the fragments and Angel got excited. Even when Bernd explained that he wasn't going to help for free. Though a favor for a favor was completely fair, and not doing any evil with the fragments as well as seeing to it that no harm befell Blue seemed like no problem at all. Hell he wouldn't have done anything evil with the Book in the first place and he would never let harm come to someone as sweet and innocent as Blue.
But even as he thought those words his eyes trailed to look at Blue... The look in her eyes was far different than they had when he met her only moments ago. There was nothing sweet or innocent in the expression on her face. She very much looked as though she were about to kill him.
As if on cue she seemed to rush at him only stopping a few feet away from him, in between Angel and Bernd. Then she growled her question, one that had only lead to hardship every time he was asked since stepping into this city. Angel hesitated for a moment looking between Bernd and Blue before finally letting out a sigh and lowering his head in defeat.
"Not by choice..."
Angel would finally say.
"The tricked me when I was younger and took me away from my family. From my life. From everyone and everything I ever loved. Ever since they weasled their way into my life I've been hated, hunted, and despised. All for something I didn't choose, didn't want...
So when I was finally fully changed and I realized I no longer had a connection to any of them I left as quickly as I could. I ran and I haven't stopped running for the last four years. My cousin and I came to this city in hopes we would no longer have to run...
I do apologize if I have upset you, but I promise you, I mean neither of you any harm in any sense of the word. I promise you both that I have no intentions of using any knowledge I gather from the Book for any evil means, as well I promise I will do everything in my power to protect you both from any harm if I am able."
Then he would turn to look at Bernd to make sure he understood Angel was agreeing to his terms.
"And as you said. A favor asked is a favor owed. If you decide to help me then I will be yours to call on, only exception being the Prince or death. You have my word, on mine and my cousins lives."
He would end his speech. No idea if that were at all going to help him because in the end his word was only as good as they believed it was and there wasn't anything he could due to prove that...

Bernd kept his hand on Blue's wing, there as no aggression as he listened to the Sorcerer speak. "It's okay Blue." He spoke softly, his voice lower than it had been, whether that was from his coughing or a simple desire to diffuse the situation was totally a matter of perspective. "It seems the Tremere have treated you as they have treated many others, and for that I feel truly sorry for you young Angel." His hand was slowly moving through Blue's feathers. He alone understood the pain and torment his little angel was feeling and why she was feeling it. It brought the kind of ache to his heart that drew a tiny bloody tear to his beady eyes.
He held up his hand toward Angel for a moment, signaling him to let him handle the situation with Blue. "Little Angel. It's okay. We're safe here, our home is like church, remember?" He asked rising painfully to his feet. "Young Angel is not a Tremere by choice or deed..." His coughing wracked his form harder than it had for the entirety of their conversation, and he leaned heavily on Blue's shoulder, trying not to drop to his knees. "He is as much a victim of them as you are, though your circumstances are far different." He cooed in their own little language, his gravely voice still sounding somehow like that of a monster to Angel. "You met him, brought him freely to our home little angel, you and the Prince both trusted him. Now is not the time to second guess yourself." He continued to lean on her, hoping that she would see the smile of pride that was so obvious on his horrid visage.
He waited for a few moments in silence, hoping his words would get through to his little angel. He knew very well how dangerous the term Tremere was, however in this specific situation she had every right to know, and though Angel hadn't openly denied it. He hadn't told her either. It would normally have been a petty thing, and he knew it, but when it came to Blue, no detail was too petty or unimportant. He would always tell her the truth and advise her to the best of his ability. She had taken up such an important and large part of his heart that he would have given his life to ensure his safety, and done so with a smile on his broken face. "Everything is going to be alright little angel." He cooed once more.
