Amelia paused, her delicate fingers stopping on the handle to the door to her new lab looking over her shoulder at both of her siblings. "Then I'll see you here again after the Finny's little coming home reunion." She turned to leave pausing for a moment again, "And if you've got a couple rapiers of your own, I'd appreciate you bringing them, this one's mine." With a twirl of hair the little weirdo left, passing by all the experiments Finn had up as if they were a normal mainstay in her life, which they were. Everything about them was normal, everything about the Cathedral, the lab, the experiments themselves and it's occupants were normal. Except for Gabby and Finny, they were the only strange, weird, lunatic abnormalities in the entire building.
Amelia's mind raced with theories on how and why her dad could utilize the rapier in the way that he did. Such precision and grace with a weapon as flexible as the rapier. It defied conventional sense, which was perfect for her, her mind wouldn't, couldn't work based on conventional knowledge, not anymore at least. They weren't the building blocks anymore, not in the way that they were for scientists. This therefore that didn't work. It was now, this therefore this and this and this. Simplicity and specialty was for insects, for ants and other small minded creatures. Why it was her siblings had chosen only to specialize made her head hurt, a gentle sad vibration moving along the madness network automatically.
But that was okay, whenever she felt sad or alone, she knew that no matter where she was, she wasn't alone. She wasn't just herself, she wasn't ever alone, she was never whole. She was always a part, a piece, an atom, a molecule, a bit of something far larger and far greater, and she could see it and feel it in every part of her body, in every corner of her mind. Everything made sense to her, and even if she couldn't let them join into it with her, she could ensure that they learned a little something on the way. Even if they didn't know it.
