Name: Acadia Joann Sackler
Nickname(s): Cady, A.J., Doc, Doctor Sackler
Character Sheet
Species / Clan: Human. Mostly.
Status: In France -- No power. [Doctorate degree in law from Harvard.]
Age: 24
Age Appearance: Late teens or early twenties; younger than she actually is.
Gender: Female
Nationality: American
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Height: Five feet, four inches
Weight: One hundred pounds
Religious beliefs: Catholic
Sexual Orientation: Uncertain ;; She has yet to have an active or continuous sexual relationship. Most likely hetero-romantic.
Appearance:
Despite her average height, there is very little about Cady that does not catch the eye. Her fiery red hair is kept pristine and smooth, soft to the touch and always well brushed. Her skin is flawless and abnormally pale, her eyes sharp, intelligent, and an unusual shade of forest green. She is incredibly thin, skinnier than she necessarily should be, seeming willowy and lithe. For quite some time, people thought her to be anorexic, considering fellow students rarely saw her eat and she almost never gained weight.
Personality: Endlessly curious, she is always seeking new information. While her intelligence is fairly average for a person her age, she intuitively understands anything she is presented with. While she may not know where the knowledge comes from, she is constantly grateful for it, nonetheless. Acadia is friendly, for the most part, but her friendship is often shallow. She has found she can function in any situation, but that means very little is special to her. She struggles to care about people simply because she is constantly aware of why they do what they do; their intentions never get passed her. Any malicious motives strike her immediately and she separates herself as much as she is able.
Interests:
Acting - Once upon a time, she wished to be in movies.
Pop culture - Cady always keeps up with everything new the world has to offer her, including movies, music, TV shows, and the like.
Photography - Despite being able to intuitively grasp whatever was happening in the picture, she has found a love for art in all its forms, the most prevalent being photographs.
People - They both terrify and intrigue her. Why do they do what they do? How do they work?
Skills:
Intuition - Acadia has the uncanny ability to, intuitively, know the exact intentions of an individual. This is often considered mind reading but she does not understand the ability.
Flexibility - Having once been a gymnast, she has abnormal dexterity and flexibility.
Cooking - Her mother made certain she knew how to be a "proper" woman. When put into a kitchen, she can make almost anything.
Social Chameleon - With the ability to know intentions, she is able to act exactly as somebody wants her to act. Therefore, she is abnormally charismatic.
Law - Having graduated with honors from Harvard Law School, she is a famous lawyer in the United States and familiar with law in most countries.
Fast Learner - She is able to pick up on new concepts easily and learns quite easily.
Enhanced D.N.A. - This comes with an enhanced healing factor, more efficient metabolism, heightened sensory recognition, slowed aging factor, improved muscular reflexes and recognition.
History: Born as the only heir to the Sackler fortune, Acadia was taught how to be a proper young lady from a young age. It was easy to ignore her gifts and act instead as if what she was learning and her strangely effective reflexes were a based on the intense "proper" training she was put through. She was an easy child, never throwing too much of a fuss and always behaving exactly as she was expected to behave, no matter the circumstances. She seemed to easily predict the wants and needs of her parents and made them incredibly proud.
In high school, she was already excelling in school and incredibly popular. Everybody seemed to enjoy her company and her presence. She almost never dated but was asked out often enough. It seemed she only dated the people with the best intentions, and while her relationships were short, everybody envied her. Acadia had a very rudimentary understanding of her gift, but talking about it only managed to make people uncomfortable, so more often than not she kept it to herself.
It was early in her high school career that she had to take an art class of some sort. Her first choice was theater; it seemed interesting, like a class she could waste time in. It didn't help that the people in theater seemed to actually care about each other. The shallowness she had become comfortable with didn't exist. It made it a very logical choice. She didn't expect to fall in love. She excelled in theater just as she did in all of her classes, but unlike the more scientific courses, she understood why she did so well. She had never enjoyed something so much.
Her parents, however, were unwilling to understand the love she had. When she told them she wanted to be an actress, that she thought she could become famous in front of the camera, they laughed at her dream. They refused to pay for any schooling, which included removing her from private school, if she wanted to continue with that dream. They also informed her that they would completely remove her from the Sackler fortune and family; disowning was something she simply could not accept. She begged them to change their minds but they vehemently refused.
Eventually, she gave in. She graduated with top honors from a prestigious private high school and went immediately to Harvard Law School. Being forced to give up her dream made her a bit bitter of a person and she refused any sort of socializing outside of what was necessary to keep her family happy. She graduated at twenty-two with a doctorate and honors. Her parents were proud of her, but their pride didn't matter to her, anymore. She was offered a partnership in a Law office the day she graduated and left the Sackler name behind to make a name for herself.
It didn't take her long to start working the more violent, high profile cases. An excellent lawyer, she had an almost spotless success record, and loved knowing she could put the bad people exactly where they belonged. With her intuition, she was able to tell when a person was innocent or guilty, and the only cases she "lost" were the ones when somebody who didn't deserve the punishment was on trial. However, it didn't take long for it to get to her.
Looking at the pictures and evidence in the courts, the situation was so real to her, she could almost feel it. One particularly brutal case involving a child left her breathless in agony and fear. She couldn't handle it anymore. Feeling sick to her stomach, she decided quickly that she couldn't do it anymore. The day after the trial, she bought herself the first ticket available and flew to France. She has spent the last few years learning the basics of self-defense and firearms. It became easy for her to do whatever it took. Close range, she was able to end somebody without them realizing what was going on; knowing their intentions made it second nature to keep herself out of harms way.
Because of the people she had seen, she became almost cold, disconnected from human life. She realized she could kill when a man broke into her apartment in a small city in France. The moment she laid eyes on him, she knew what he wanted to do to her, and it wasn't nice. Instinct kicked in. She grabbed the handgun she kept right beside her bed, aimed, and fired. In a single shot, she managed to take him out, and it didn't break her like she thought it might. Too many men just like him had escaped the legal system... Too many people like him deserved exactly what she did. Guns became an obsession, and the idea of being a vigilante was appealing to her and easy to pick up.
Out of curiosity, she picked up a long range rifle one day. For the first time in her life, she couldn't depend on her inherent knowledge of her opponent. Her gift only managed when she was closer to a person. Acadia had finally found something that she had to work at, something she had to improve. She had finally found something that wasn't just... natural. And she fell in love with it. She decided that day that she wanted to be the best sniper that had ever existed. She has worked endlessly to perfect her new art; a sniper vigilante.
