St. Paul is a charming city and the equally charming apartment was lit up in the night as a drunken mermaid strolled out the door in a daze. her haircut was fresh and so was her donation. The mermaid was one of three fortunate enough to walk out the door with an amazing hair cut and about a pint of blood donated. Terrace had guests coming over long time friends. She hardly cleaned up the living room coffee table of the sculpting tools and doll forms already in progress from her visits today. But you can bet the rest of the house was clean. Mostly because she was not the only one stomping through here regularly, but all beneficial for the Twins, Calypso and Kipling.
Preparing a drink mixture she learned before leaving France it was a house favorite. She danced and tiptoed in velvety red stilettos, black sheer stockings and a form fitting, off the shoulder, red dress with a design of black roses airbrushed up her body. Her deep red hair bounce as her music played and she swayed. In a Swift moment she would hear the door bell and rush to the universal remote and turn the volume down before greeting the two with a happy smile.

As Terra turned around, she would find the stark blonde Calypso in one of her plush arm chairs, one long leg crossed over the other, her foot lightly tapping the air, covered in a strappy six inch heel. As she often did when visiting her artistic former lover, she wore a cocktail dress of shimmering navy blue, clinging to the curves of her muscular frame, elbow length gloves hiding her hands from view. In the rather provocative position, it was easy to see the handgun, glimmering black metal, strapped on her right thigh. She never went anywhere without it.
It wasn't uncommon for her to seemingly appear, out of nowhere, without so much as a whisper to alert to her presence. Her stiletto heels should have made audible clicking, and her entry through the door - if she came in through the door in the first place - should have been easy to hear. Yet, she was there. As if she had been the entire time.
"Good evening, love," she purred, French accent still thick. It was easy to remember what a passionate Calypso had been, once upon a time, whenever she spoke... but that empty, placid lake look in her blue-green eyes, the total lack of expression, the way she looked around the room with a sort of disconnected boredom... It was obvious that whatever had existed there had long since fled. "Kip should be close behind me."
As if on cue, a knock sounded on the door.

"Mon cher!" she exclaimed rather sarcastically whirling around a big grin on her face. "Oh you are as light-footed as ever, truly it doesn't fail to amaze me, for a Brujah you are so much like an assassin than anything else. Which works in your favor, it shows real finesse."
This was pretty common it might succeed and startle Terra from time to time which is why she thought Caly kept trying. Maybe that was the only joy she got out of her night if she got any at all. For an instant there might have been a tinge of guilt in reaction to seeing Caly's dry expression. She was used to it she was also used to the idea that it might have been her fault this ray of sunshine lost its light. There was little beauty in pain and this was how pain made you die inside. A broken heart was a similar pain these women shared. for Terra however she felt she was good at least at faking it. Is that really a good thing? She felt it might be, hoping to stay positive for her closest friend. However really not a lot was going to fumble the Toreador tonight, She felt things were as bright as daylight and she was teaming in the glow of this beautiful night. t She paused hearing the door bell ring."Speaking of finesse, when did you get that dress? you look like the night sky has embraced you." she would ask waltzing toward the door and opening it to welcome Kip who as always decided to come a more traditional welcome.

Calypso dropped her glassy gaze to her own dress, a single brow arching nearly to her hairline. Where did she get it? She searched through her most recent memories, combing idly as she tried to recall how it managed to sneak into her closet. There was so much information, so many numbers and security details pertaining to Prince Azarius and his Elysium home, that mundane information like outfits often slipped her mind altogether.
"I found it for her," Kip cooed as the door opened, a wide, dorkish grin plastered across his youthful face. He stepped over the threshold, reaching out to take the delicate hand of his hostess, bowing at the hips to place a butterfly soft kiss across her fingers. "She refuses to take the time to shop for herself, anymore, so I did it for her."
He stood up straight and, after his formal greeting, wrapped both arms tight around the beautiful Toreador. If she'd let him, he'd squeeze her and lift her off her feet, giving her a slight swing from side to side. "Its sooooo good to see you, cherie! Tell me, how's your nighttime treating you? Tell us EVERYTHING!" His sister remained silent, not moving from the armchair, crossing her arms beneath the curve of her breasts. She did not bother greeting Kipling; in fact, she seemed... bored.

Terra welcomed Kip's charm and embrace and swung where he lead her grinning the whole time. When he slowed down she would pat the side of his face with her hands. She remembered when Caly was just like her brother, now you can hardly tell the two were related except for the way they looked. "Of course you did. I remember you telling me an old pale pink dress mother made for me was not good on my living skin tone. You were so right, but to her face... Oh I thought i'd never hear the end of it. Make yourself comfortable and I will tell you all about it."
"You wont believe the lovely demoiselle that came in today. I believe I am seeing her blossom in a lily she is not human of this concrete city, she is of earth rooted deep and raw. Her hair was hot like fire and the curls breezed in the wind. No doubt a fiery lily fey. I met her and a gargoyle and a mermaid tonight." She'd make her way to the bar and brought over her concoction of drinks for her friends. "Oh and the young fairy child... Her debut was a success... I wanted to share that celebration with the both of you. She was by far one of my favorite works." Her voice was somber for that last bit. She hardly got so personal with her work as she did that sickly young girl. It was a miracle they met and since Terra would not take blood from someone who was already weakened it was just a matter of seeing the beauty unfold from the child and obsess over creating the dream she knew she'd never be able to accomplish. That little girl held the most love even on the cusp of life and death, all the things that seemed to bring forth the true beauty Terra eternally sought after.
She would bring the wine glasses with the bottle and pour into each of them about half way before sitting in the open space.

Calypso was the first to take a drink from what was offered, leaning forward and untangling her legs. She moved with precision and purpose, not wasting even a modicum of energy, before she leaned back and returned to the exact position she has left. No matter what she did, it was plain to see her "art form" was no longer the sweet seduction she had cherished for so long... She was a soldier, down to her core.
Her brother, however, had that goofy grin across his face, and his eyes - the same blue-green of the Brujah - were alive and sparkling. He waited to be served, not wanting to seem rude, and listened to Terra's stories. "Ahhhh! Congratulations, cherie! Look at you, rising to the top." He winked at her before settling down on one of the overstuffed couches, leaving enough room for the Toreador, should she wish to join him.
"How exciting the spotlight must be." Kipling did not frequent popularity, enjoying the work in his garage or the dimly lit bars that invited him to play his saxaphone. Of course, blues bars were a dying race, so the little grease monkey was losing more and more of the performance art and gaining more and more time, most of which he packed thick with work beneath the antique car Caly had found for him. It was obvious he missed it.

"Please no one else does what I do, at least to the same extent... I'd hardly call it rising to the top if you are already there." She wanted to humble her self again after spouting that. While it was not untrue she talked a lot of big but her own memories served her a slice of when she was struggling on her form and before she could hone in on a specialty. "Well there was a time when the paint would not behave and the body would have flaws. I suppose rising is something I am still doing in many aspects."
She took a drink as Kip spoke. "Have you not played in some time? Let me know, next time I have an uptown Gallery showing it would be so classy to hear you play Kip. The money loving guests will eat you up for a change." Terra joked with the bit of vamp humor taking another sip glancing between the two of them. She constantly worried about Calypso for sure but after all this time she was just not sure if there was anything else she could do. Every now and again she would try to work something out with Kipling hoping to see if a spark would come back to her eye. Often they'd think they would be so close but... lets just say the dead had more spark in their eyes.
"You know though there is I recently heard about place some basement lounge where they have talent go up and just casually play, they sing karaoke, stand up poetry, and so on. They offered me a display corner to feature one of my works,. would you two like to join me one night?"

The male twin brightened at the very thought of performing again. His free hand, the one not cradling the crystal glass, spasmed, fingers splaying wide as if imagining the brass instrument, his smile suddenly becoming rather content. He played jazz and blues, both excellently, but they were a dying artform. "Ya mean it?" He purred, lids drooping in satisfaction as he imagined the scene vividly.
The rich would flock to see her art and find themselves mesmerized by his music. He leaned back with a heavy, happy sigh. The poor boy really should have been a Toreador. "You need more classy music at your shows anyway, mon chere," Kip teased, shaking the image free from his mind, shaggy blonde hair flippant around his face.
Calypso glanced between the two with a light cock of her brow but remained silent, even as her brother agreed for her. "Of course we would love to come! You'll have to give us some notice, of course. Oz has Caly working most nights... And, if it's far enough out, I may have my baby all ready~"
For the last three years, Kip had locked himself in the garage whenever he had a free moment, working diligently on an old 1978 Pontiac Firebird that he found at an auction for cheap. When he first got his hands on the vehicle, it didn't run, looked like it might fall apart at any moment, and smelled like a retirement home. Nobody, not even his sister, had gotten a good look at it. He coveted it, keeping it shrouded in mystery and secrets.
"What? You actually got that rust bucket running?" Caly muttered. Had her tone been anything more than the flat, emotionless monotone that she had maintained for nearly thirty years, it might have been a playful jab between siblings. Yet, as it stood, Kip looked as if she had struck him. Pouting, he nodded and glanced away. "She runs..."

He really should have been a Toreador but a Ravenos was close enough. She thought his reaction was completely adorable her fingers went to her lips as her smile almost busted a laughter that would have been out of her control other wise. "Of course I mean it, my goodness you would be so much better than the modern DJ they keep bringing up to ambiance my Galleries. You couldn't be more right about classical music, while I would not say DJ-ing is not with out its own art form... that child they hire is just that, no class and no soul. He doesn't even want to be there."
Terra hasn't really seen Kips ride in some time, she was not really into cars. They looked nice but people were her definition of beauty just the same. Terra really did not discriminate with art, she understood there were endless different kinds of people and endless different ways people unveil their soul. She just wished there was more she could do. She can drag Kip all over the place and knew Caly would follow if she was not busy but the unfinished piece that she has become will seemingly forever haunt the incomplete doll collection Terra had packed away in a closet. It broke her heart to see it, just the same as well. She'd longed to turn back the clock and redo things. Terra acted incredibly selfish back then only concerned with her art and impressing her Sire. In a constant loop of disapproval she had forgotten what was important.
After they had finished talking things were growing awkward in mere seconds so to continue the conversation. "Well We still have a couple of months and I have about three more pieces from to complete. so I do believe there is some good amount of time before their debut. Also now that we are talking about the Car, I might need some help with the Gargoyle. I know next to nothing about cars but I am positive I want him seemingly blowing smoke or flames from some waste land-ish get up, do you know what I might need to look up?

Kipling brightened back up immediately as soon as Terra mentioned the DJ-ing again. He clapped his hands together for a moment, then gave a shake of his head, already reviewing the sort of music that would match the artwork the beautiful woman liked to show. The awkward silence seemed completely lost on him, despite his sister's rather pointed gaze the entire time. He was used to the cold, lifeless look in her eyes, but it still killed him to remember the shining star she once was. The twins used to have so much fun, do so many wild things, and have the best stories to tell.... but that time was long past. It constantly felt as if something was stolen, not only from Calypso herself... but from him, too.
He jerked slightly whenever their host spoke again, obviously startled from his thoughts, and his grin spread to a goofy semblance of Shaggy, from the Scooby Doo series. His eyes lit up the moment she mentioned her own vehicle, and he nodded enthusiastically. Not even Caly could stop him, here. "Are you kidding? I would love to take a look! Are you actually going to let me take a look? You trust me enough to?"

She blinked her lashes at him in a bit of shock. "You two have been with me nearly my whole life! I trust you more than anyone else in the world." She leaned forward and her hand went to her heart. She knew there was something she did that would make him believe other wise however. A heavy feeling weighed on her chest.
She exhaled deeply, she could not hold back what she felt. "Truthfully... it is hard for me to see why you trust me so much after I shoved you aside... I did not even notice how much I had left behind and how much it all changed. The world could have stopped it's rotation and I would not have cared. I suppose after that we might never be able to be as close we used to be... Right Caly?" She looked at her dear friend with a sad smile.

Calypso looked up the moment she heard her name and her eyes flashed with a moment of recognition. How much things had changed... Did Terra realize just how right she was? Did she realize just how much things HAD changed? She blinked slowly, her once shining gaze having long since dulled and her fire having gone out years before. She remembered what it was like to love the artist, to love in general, even though it was so long ago that she had truly experienced any encompassing emotion such as love.
Her shoulders rose and fell in a nonchalant, noncommittal shrug, and she forced herself to look away from the woman that had once stoked such a fierce passion in her chest. She remembered fighting alongside Terra, protecting her and keeping her safe. She remembered fighting with no one except her brother at her back, attempting to maintain the beauty they were both so totally infatuated with.
Kip watched his sister with a growing frown across his features, giving a slight shake of his head and letting out a quiet sigh. "Cal," he murmured, trying to stir something within the blonde beauty that sat there, commanding attention despite her efforts to fade away into the background.
"Time changes things," she finally said, mirroring her brother's shake of the head. In moments like that, it was easy to see the resemblance between the twins that was lost alongside Calypso's emotions. "It happens. It doesn't mean that things have to be stolen from you. We told you back then, Terrace. We would always have your back. No matter what."

Her eyes dropped from her friend. The guilt that ran through her body was heavy. She could only think how much she regretted not being there for her friend. Yes time changes many things, of course it does. How can they still have her back when Terrace did not return the favor when Calypso needed it the most. If Terra actually said these things it would have just gone around and around it was hard to see anything new happen after they tried everything.
A Spark would be seen once in a while but it would fade away so quickly failing to strike a match so many times you just try another match, try something different. But... you only have so many matches in one box. Terra kept trying but she was running out of ideas. Except for one... it was steep but she needed to feel something. Nothing could be felt in Calypso... Terrace doesn't have that to go by.
"I suppose your right..." She gave a weak grin. "Well the night is still young, I wanted to pop by and see Dear Oz here soon..."

Calypso offered a half-hearted nod as soon as the name "Oz" left her friend's lips. Oz, short for Ozarius, was the Prince of their dear city, and the driving force behind the True Brujah and her survival. She had sworn loyalty to the man ages ago and owed him her very life, a debt she was sworn to repay no matter what. Her brother had followed her through time and trial, swearing his own oath of loyalty to the strange Kindred, and they both spent an exorbitant amount of time in his home, a two story Victorian smack dab in the middle of the city limits.
It wouldn't be odd for either to approach without invitation, and Terrace knew that she was welcome, especially with escort, whenever the urge overtook her. Oz was a kind man and thoroughly enjoyed the company of the twins and their companions, having grown fond of the artist and her witty humor. He made it as clear as he could to Caly and Kip both that she was free to come and go as she pleased, almost as if she were a member of his Court.
"Whenever you want," she muttered, still sounding disinterested. Idly, she began to pick at her nails, an old habit that used to only rear its head whenever she was feeling nervous or uncomfortable. Recent days showed it far more often, however, and even when there was nothing weighing on the little blonde. "Last I checked, Oz had no plans or visitors tonight, so I'm sure--"
Her brother interrupted her bored speech, his own more enthusiastic and filled with energy. "Duh, Sis, he has nobody. Even if he did, it isn't like it would matter much! I mean, Oz freaking ADORES you, Tee, and he LOVES when you come visit! He's like... like everybody's good ol' grandpa. He won't admit that he's lonely but he really is, and when his grandkids come to visit, he gets all bright and--... Wait, no. He's more like everybody's grandma. Because cookies."

She gave a smile. "Well then it should be a perfect opportunity, I will not be troubling him." Oz certainly never made her feel like she'd trouble him but Terrace wanted to be certain. These two were closer to him. She was not much more than an artist under his territory but it was enough... more than enough for certain. Still referring him to a grandparent from Kipling... She had taken a sip of her vitae to only and ungracefully choke on it mid laugh trying to hold it back with fingers to her red painted lips.
"Oh *cough* Kip!" She chuckled. "Goodness the accuracy!"
