Skills: Narum can determine how one feels by what music they are currently listening to. He has also taken up saber fencing to pass the time.
History: Narum was born into a less than privileged family in Haiti, so he sort of grew up running the streets. He did all he could just to help provide for his family, and get an education at the same time. Eventually, he even started running with a local gang, and in turn, they made sure his family had most of what they needed. When he turned 18 they offered him a place in the gang. He jumped at the chance thinking he and his family would be set for life. If he had known just how wrong he was, he never would have agreed.
Turns out they were vampires. A clan calling themselves the Serpents of Light. All Narum had to do was swear loyalty to them, and be injected with the vitae of their sire. At first he turned them down, thinking it was some kind of bad joke. As he stood up, their sire walked into the room with another recruit. Asking if he truly wanted to turn down the offer. He slit his wrist, and offered it to the other recruit. Who happily drank his vitae.
After seeing the abilities it gave the other recuit, Narum requested some time to think on this offer. The vampires sire offered him five years to think on it. He also offered him a job working at a club he owned in the Caribbean. "Just a little something to help out you and your family," he said, "think of it as a gesture of good faith." Narum agreed and extended his hand to the man. They shook on it, and arranged a day to relocate his family to the new area.
Five years pass, and Narum has worked his way from bouncer to club manager. He, and his family, were living the life they thought they would never have. Eating out on a weekly basis, living in a home big enough for a family of five, and traveling the world every other month. Narum had the time he needed to think things over, and now he had come to a decision. He would join these Serpents of Light, and do their bidding.
Narum called up the gang, and informed them of his decision. They rushed to the club he was running, picked him up, and carted him to their base of operations. The building they took him to looked run down. As though time had given it no mercy. Everything on the outside looked dead, but once you got inside, everything from top to bottom was brand new. Narum was dumbfounded. The entire inside of this run down apartment building looked like a mansion.
"Greetings Narum Elie. I hear you've decided to join us", said their sire as he walked down the stairwell. He was a tall, thin built man with glowing red eyes. Dressed in a fine tailored suit, and carrying a serpent shaped cane. "Antwan is my name. Antwan Wright", he said with a toothy grin. He then extended a hand to greet Narum properly.
Narum shook his hand, taking another look around. "Well Mister Antwan, you have a nice place here. It must have taken ages to complete it," he said. Antwan laughed, placing his hand on Narum's shoulder. "This masterpiece took at least twenty five years to finish, but I'm sure you didn't come here just to talk about my living arrangements." He began walking to a door just left of the staircase, and motioned for Narum to follow. As he opened the door, the sound of jazz poured into the air. Before them was a room full of people. Dancing the night away without a care in the world.
"Come Narum. Let's discuss our arrangement", he said as they approached his VIP room. "I assume you've had adequate time to think over my offer?" He ushered Narum to the table, and made his way to a book shelf behind his desk. Every row was filled with books. Every row but the last. On that row sat an ivory platter, and next to it was a glass bottle filled with a crimson liquid.
Antwan grabbed the platter, and set a couple of glasses on it. He grabbed the bottle, and twirled it for a bit. "Becoming one of my servants is nothing to be taken lightly my friend", he said. "Our family owns most of the territory from here to Haiti, and we have many enemies. Enemies that would love to see us all dead. Are you sure you wish to join us?"
