Angel would make his way back to his hotel with Belle after their meeting with the Prince. Sitting down he would let out a sigh. It had been a long night. But he had something to check out before he called it a night.
He pulled out the mysterious book the man from the pet store handed him. Going up to the computer in the room he would open up Google and type in a description. As he waited for the results he let out a sigh and looked at the book.
"What are you?"
He would say, more to himself than asking the book. It's not like this thing would actually speak to him.

"A fragment," the book responded. It didn't seem to have eyes or a mouth, nor did the covers flap to mimic it. The voice was that of an old man, aged by far too much horror and pain in his life. "A fragment once read by the gods themselves."
The leather binding seemed to morph ever so slightly until it managed to open itself, displaying yellowed parchment written on in gold. The language was archaic and long since abandoned, but as Angel would start to try and read, he'd find that he could understand what it said.
"Greetings," the book read. "Welcome to the Journal of Sargon."

Angel jumped when to book answered. He stared at it listening to what it said. Then it opened to show some language he had never seen before...
"What the..."
But he understood the text... What was happening?
"Am... Am I going crazy."
The he was talking to a book definitely crazy.

"The insane have no access to these pages," it said, sounding almost... bored with the conversation. As if it had taken part in it many times before.

"Ok... So I'm not crazy for talking to a book? Is that what you, a book, are trying to tell me?"
Angel folded his arms at the book, but he still decided to read the text that is arcaic but apparently understandable.

Somehow, the magic book managed to heave a heavy sigh from within its pages, making each sheet quiver. The irritation was obvious in its tone, even if it had no eyes to roll of lips to smirk.
"Yes," it told him, snapping closed with a breath of dust. "That is exactly what I'm telling you. Should you feel unworthy, I can disappear again."
For another few hundred years. Oh great.

Angel also sighed rubbing his eye. Of all things he did not think he would ever argue with a book.
"Alright... Alright. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to insult you it's just... It's been a long day."
Angel leaned back in his chair and looked at the book.
"So... What's your story?"

If it had a face, it would have beaten it against something. The book wiggled back and forth, trying desperately to throw itself off the counter and to the ground, where it had better chances of escape.
"You do not listen!" It demanded in a heated voice, like an indignant old man when somebody took away his pudding.

"No I heard that you are The Sargon fragment. I get that, what I'm asking is, what is a Sargon fragment how many fragments are there, what do you do, where have you been? Ya know stuff like that."
Angel would ask reaching out to catch the book of it did fall.

"Ignorant... dumb... kids these days..." Grumble grumble. Like a grumpy old man.
The book sighed again, letting the stranger catch him as he fell. There was no expression of gratitude or acceptance of the offer.
"I am the Journal of Sargon! Depicting his rise and fall as a mortal and a god..."

"Rise and fall of mortal and a god? Who was this Sargon guy anyways?"
Angel asked curiously.

"He was a mortal... who became a god..."
The book was only managing to sound more and more irritated by Angel's questions, as if he thought there was something better he could be doing with his time. Like what?.... Reading?

Angel twitched.
"I got that... I was asking if there was more to the story... But if there isn't would you mind me reading your pages?"
Angel had surely lost his sanity. He was now asking a book for permission to read it...

Finally, they were getting somewhere.
"No. You don't READ a book. What EVER would give you THAT idea?"
He grumbled quietly about children and new aged fanagaling before he opened back up to the first page. The golden scrawl began etching across the parchment once more.

Angel had to stop himself from snapping at the book. This thing was pissing him off, if it was just a fancy story book of no interest Angel was going to shred it.
But as the book opened Angel leaned forward again to read what was on the pages.
