She has an affinity to flame and shadow and can mold both to her liking even making fabric out of either. Her voice can command lesser demons and she is able to control an enormous band of shadow imps she calls her minions. She feeds off pain and negative emotions which can be used for medical or mental first-aid and her great knowledge of most living creatures makes her a pretty fair surgeon, especially since microbes cannot live on or in her body. Thorn can take on various forms and her basic form is her soul form which looks basically like silver rimmed black flame, but this is changing....Her form in Hell is a dragon as she comes from a line of Daemon Dragons starting with Kaz/BAAL. As from her hell7 that she was born into she can control the heated substances and has been know to tap into the melted rock that is underground.
History: Thorn...A brief history
THORN A BRIEF HISTORY
Silverthorn was created out of the original Chaos that eventually became the universe and everything in it. Her father was Kaz the original Demonic and leader of the hells and the Oblivions. He was the first of the firstwave with the demonic sides to power. He controlled the Chaos around a small portion of the soul part and created Silverthon and her twin brother Draconis. Being made by Kaz gave Silverthorn similar powers and she was one of the first female Daemons ever created by one of the first wave.
When she was spawned out of Mother Chaos she was sent off to the newly made outlands of hell to learn to survive and how to use the powers that would come on slowly through life threatening situations. Silverthorn is one of the few sorceress/schemer Demons to ever survive the outlands and make it back alive. The outlands pose the biggest survival of the fittest test on the spawn of the demon hordes. Just after being spawned and sent there she was accosted by a witch sent by one of the Firstwave and was cursed in angelic flames of white which burnt her body white and turned her hair silver giving her the appearance of an angel which has left her to ridicule by her family siblings and many other demonic personages. Along with this transformation it also created in her a block that prevents her from ever telling an untruth.
When Thorn returned from the wastes she was Dubbed Silverthorn by her other newly made siblings and all other of her family besides her Father who still loved her as his firstspawn, if you could imagine demonic love. Next in line to her father’s throne, and totally in abhorrence over that fact, she was almost outcast from her other siblings for her strangeness and their jealousy. Not of a warrior type even though she could fight if cornered, Thorn was forced into hiding in unusual places from mainly her eldest brother, Swiftclaw, and kept out of the society of the hordes.
Eventually, lost and not sure of how to cope, she received no help from her father who believed in survival of the fittest though he did keep a close eye on her, she came to a large lump of rock that sputtered and turned around a yellow sun. While she wandered over the surface looking around a being appeared in front of her and handed her a scroll without saying a word then vanishes with anything but the scroll to tell it had been there. Silverthorn had no idea what the being was so she had drawn a knife, finding swords too heavy for her, and was about to lunge at it to protect herself. She vanishes back to her hiding place in the caverns deep in the hellish terrain of hell 7 and read it in private with only her few minions to witness. The scroll was written in a feathery language that though Thorn could understand she knew it was not demonic but maybe a language older even then her native tongue. on it were instructions to her about her soul quest and the planet that she had been wandering around on was the platform for the welfare of the universe.
For the first time she actually had something to do and a purpose she signed the bottom of the contract, as that is what it was, and instantly found herself with the compulsion to do the quest that outranked anything else she used to think was important. For her her own survival was important for more then just her own use. She was actually needed by something greater then herself. In the universal order happening out of Thorn’s scope the waves of the first were branching out and taking interst in other things besides creation. It was well known the order in which the universe wanted things to go and human beings suddenly were coming and where a big part of the natural order but they were far too spiritually immature to take on the responsibility of looking after the universe.
Yahweh one of the first and the leader of the angelic hordes had drawn up a force to protect and nurture the human population that was just starting to evolve on earth but they were terribly slow in developing and the nurturing was bringing the population to a dangerous level just on the planet that the Celestials had to intervene and take the demons into confidence to stop this situation. Many of the demons especially the Daemons (the first Demons) were given Soul Quests similar to Silverthorn’s. Yahweh found out about this and immediately began working against it, blinded by the need to nurture to see the need of the universal soul. Taking on the power at his control and taking from the power of some of the stronger second wave angels and in the process killing them to get the power, and with the power he bound the souls of the demon hordes under the second wave to there respective hells so they were unable to leave their hells for more then short periods of time and also inflicted on them an allergy to anything that is a clensing agent for the soul of the chemicals that are made on earth in an attempt to give the humans some kind of defense against the daemons and their soul quests.
The Celestials intervened and watered this curse down allowing ways around it and limiting the allergies to just a few things, though they were unable to limit the poison of silver being a hard metal of soul clensing and it remains one of the biggest baines of a demons existence.
Yahweh also started a religion around himself on the planet Earth and created more stipulations regarding the time on the planet that imposed on the task of the demons. Things like posession and power on Earth for the Demons became very much inhibited and their tasks got harder though they perservered as these tasks were now the most important in their existence. Silverthorn survived the understanding of these curses and restrictions unlike many others and perservered in her task though she was still hounded by her family.
Eventually the vampire race was created by some human unhappy with something that Thorn did not understand and paid little attention to not realising how this was going to effect her later. At this point in time she had moved into the Egyptian civilisation and was causing havok there as per her quest stipulations. In Egypt Thorn learnt a structured fighting style for the first time and it is the close range style she still uses today. She was worshipped as the Goddess Nephthys in Egypt who was the temporary bride of the Egyptian god of the underworld and the one that taught the Goddess Isis the embalming so she could save her husband Osiris.
In Egypt she was also given her Soul Dagger Anakhnamet by the Celestials which was something given to all the Daemons under Quest to help them survive all the restriction that Yahweh was trying to build up. Anakhnamet is soul bound to Silverthorn and has the ability to house her soul when she is moving from temporary body to body. It also anchors her to her hell irrespective of where she is if she marries outside of the demon hordes to one of earth. Anakhnamet is also a soul weapon capable of sucking the soul of another into it but is only able to store a few at a time and she has to empty them often. The dagger was created from the bright soul of one of the celestials and in one form is a woman who can only make the sound of a sword whistling through the air.
Through the times of Earth Silverthorn played the part of mentor to many of the worlds greatest mass killers and played on the side of the serial killers when war seemed unlikely. Being a schemer demon she would be part of the advisors to the heads of the forces bent on large mass destruction of human lives and she learned fast and did well in her fight to keep with her soul quest.
Recently she was interrupted in her quest by the falling of an angel and she left what she was doing to see what this was and if it had any potential. to Demons the pure souls of angels are fascinating and almost impossible to resist and at this time she met Donna-Angela. Also with her was a vampire known as Serath. Silverthorn was instantly attracted to Serath and saw that he was besotted with the angel and attenpted to try and steal the young angel from him and leave him open to advances of her own. This failed terribly when Donna-Angela revealed her soul and Silverthorn made the huge mistake of not averting her eyes. Without being able to stop herself she touched the soul of the angel and was instantly soulbound to her and she punished herself dearly for her grievous oversight.
But the worst damage to her was done through Serath. He could never choose between the angel or the demon and would flit between both. At one stage he did marry Thorn though often her life was threatened almost by his very presence. In the marrying of her she became able to leave the hell for greater time as her soul was now bound to a creature of earth and she could work her task unimpeded by this restriction. But also in this time she was bitten by the vampire and as the coupling did not match her demonic nature she was driven insane by the forced confinement in one eternal body. Through her father she was born again of the Chaos mother after moving back in time and Kaz also brought her brother and made him her protector as he began to worry about his daughters safety.
During this time also there were some changes happening just after Thorn left Egypt. the hordes of the demons were becoming unruly and Kaz had to take steps. With the help from the first and second wave beings he created a sword that tapped all the energy of the hells and of the Oblivions. He named it the Oblivion Sword and posed on it the restriction of that only the firstspawn heirs could touch it. When the truth of this reached the ears of Silverthorns brother he sent scouts out to look for her and she was forced once again into hiding which was very difficult as Serath had a way of announcing her position in hell anytime he was around and she had to keep making new places to live that were unknown.
Being now the direct heir of the sword and with no one else able to wield it except her firstspawn Thorn realised the spawn she had killed would have to be reborn and she flinched at the idea that it be a spawn of Serath’s so she buried this information and began the long process of trying to pull herself out of the vampires hold so she could leave and find a suitable sire for the spawn. In her searching she met up with others but did not feel the same bond and would not consider them suitable sires until she came to Blitz army. Here she very fleetingly saw Vince Cordova and felt a pull and went back to her father for advice. He told her he would consult and see if this would be a suitable sire though the idea frightened her. She did not want to get attached again like she was with Serath and wondered how she would cope mating and spawning then letting go of this one. her father returned with a list of bloodlines and told her she would have to look into the ancestors to see which ones would be the right ones. Thorn went off and studied the ancestry of the names she was given and with fear and excitement found V. Cordova was in the family of one of the lists. it took a long time but eventually she was able to mate and produce her firstspawn again in the form of Silverflame who renamed himself Pyre.
THE DEMONIC RITUALS
Marriage: The marriage ritual is only used in the case where a particular demoness is needed to breed. in this circumstance it is usually a high family and the demon spawn is needed to keep the family line in tact. Especially if the female is reluctant to spawn and the spawning has to be naturally done (see section on spawning) in this case there can be either a demon or a non demon celebrant. It is better if it is a non demon as the frenzy can effect the celebrant and then the whole ritual is negated. The celebrant brings the goblet with the powerful brew used at marriage and passes it around the congregation while he speaks the ritual words of incitement. when the brew enters the bloodstream of the male demons they go into a rutting frenzy and the female is methodically gang raped by all the demons in the room who have drank from the cup. there is seldom any other females at a marriage ritual. Most females avoid them even if they are not the bride as they could also be part of the ritual raping. No female demon enters into the ritual unless made to do it and often they have little choice in the companions. If the female does not end up with spawn after the ritual it is the decision of the involved families whether the ritual is to be repeated or the female is killed for being barren. This of course depends on the value of the spawn from this female. If it is unsuccessful the second time the female is automatically killed.
A Note On Spawning: The spawn of the demon rips it’s way out of the female(dam) and takes the soul or part of for it’s own as there is little of the soul mind left in the demon world. The dam usually doesn’t survive especially if the spawn is a male and the body is usually as ripped to shreds as the soul of the Dam. The spawn come from it’s Dam fully aware and heads towards the outlands of the Hells to survive the test of it’s worthiness. If it dies on the way it is forgotten and if it survives it is welcomed back int the demon society so to speak. Many die in the outlands and about 60% make it through. The testing of the outlands is there specifically to help the demon spwan to understand and use their powers by having life threatening situations thrust upon them.
